Im no sparky but i know as long as the socket is 600 mm from a water source (tap) and you get it certified by a specialist it should be ok 👍

Seems odd that an electric shower is allowed while a washing machine is required to be outside a zone. 🤔
I would prefer a ceiling mounted switch operated by a pull cord, so water cannot splash on the electric switch.

Mines literally beside the bath plugged into an extension lead that's also In the bathroom washing machine always plugged in would probably be not illegal but not advisable for me as for that it should be fine as its in its own little space
