Problem is basic math: If x is first die and y is second die, then
= 5(2x + 5) + y
= 10x + y + 25
Solution:
= 10x + y + 25 - 25
= 10x + y
x is tens place digit. y is ones place digit. If solution = 14, then you rolled 1 and 4

So, you made them multiply one die per 10, add the other die, so 1x10 plus 4 = 14 and add 25, just in a convoluted way. Maths are magic, now.
