I 3D printed a morse paddle and then with a keyer speed of 18wpm started to practise cq 2e0txe. There are some videos 100, 200, etc words in morse code. I have had those on in the background, and when driving, and subconsciously started to recognise words and then phrases. My biggest bit of advice is don't listen to the dits and dahs, listen for the sound instead. CQ CQ has a certain sound to it, like 599 599, or 73.
Using the paddle and a keyer was a great way to learn because if you slowed down you had to start again, and 18wpm is similar to what I'm hearing on the bands. Still learning, still improving, but each time I make a morse qso no matter who or where, its very rewarding at the moment.

Thanks. Might be βjustβ a pep talk video, but I am trying to learn, and a pep talk helps. Sticking with it, even though itβs slow. I decided to postpone transcription because it slows me down and confuses me. I learned English by listening first so giving that a go and making progress. And yeah, the local club is starting a class.
