📝 When my daughter lies to me, here’s my proven approach

1. Instead of yelling (my old response), I now pause and breathe
2. Yesterday caught her lying about homework - but stayed calm
3. Used my “TRUST” method that changed everything:
T: Take time to listen without judgment
R: Reflect on why she might be afraid to tell truth
U: Understand her perspective first
S: Share similar experiences from my past
T: Together create solutions
4. Result? my daughter opened up about feeling overwhelmed
5. We created a homework schedule TOGETHER
6. Set realistic expectations (not perfection!)
7. Established a “safe truth zone” - no punishment for honesty
8. Started daily 10-minute connection chats
9. Celebrated small moments of truthfulness
10. Now she comes to me BEFORE problems growThe change in our relationship is AMAZING!
