I really wanted this TV the first time I saw it in person, but I am worried about all of the complaints concerning image processing with lower quality content, which is what I mainly view. I am a glossy screen fan like everyone, but I would rather have the matte for an area with windows/doors in the background. Contrary to the most common arguments about "lifted black levels", I find it to be a much better compromise than watching an image with windows and doors all over it. Can anyone shed light on their lower quality content experiences with the S95D?

I’ve been eyeballing their OLED and seen a friend recently who has it and I was upset. The Matte takes away the inky-ness. Bummed because I love their SAMSUNG QLED but want to move to OLED. Didn’t want to go to LG or Sony but now I have to consider it.

Well, my whole living room wall is floor to ceiling windows. So ill definitely be getting the s95D. Ive seen it in the stores and it definitely hides the background

Its a veey glossy lookimg matte coating. Unless you have a high gloss oled like lg you wont notice it looking matte at all. It does have a shine to it.
You also wont be staring at youre reflection everytime it goes to a black screen
I own a LG oled. Glossy as you can get, the refle tions are annoying. Black mirror

In ambient light like yours you lose depth, and colors desaturate compared when it’s dark. Gloss in those conditions is not an issue. In case of having windows opposite your tv - s95d will fair better but also will look like a cheap lcd picture wise. So not great whether it’s this or gloss. Lastly gloss tricks our brains adding dimension to the picture - matte doesn’t.

in bright room you wont get the inky dark blacks the glass finish gives that coating is bad for that reason and no dolby vision so why choose this over LG? Slighty brighter? you wont notice much a difference in brightness and heard this TV thermal throttles down to lower brightness
