When baby turtles hatch from their eggs, their lives are filled with danger. The mother turtle digs a hole in the sand by the sea, lays her eggs, and then covers them before returning to the ocean, never to come back.

After 60-70 days, the babies hatch, but that’s when their real challenges begin. Around 60% of them can’t escape the sand and die beneath it. The ones that do make it out begin their journey towards the ocean, but predators like hawks and vultures are watching them closely. Due to their slow pace, only about 20% of the baby turtles manage to reach the ocean and survive.

This is the harsh reality of their lives.
