Red is easily weirder with it's section of songs written by the other Weezers, and the randomness of "Greatest Man", and the fact that it's best song, "Miss Sweeney" is a bonus track. The weirdest thing about Hurley is the fact that the cover looks so little like an album cover that it's nearly impossible to find without the jewel case spine on the side.

We can make jokes as much as we want but Hurley is legitimately a weird album. We know basically nothing about it except that it was apparently hastily recorded in just two weeks, it may have been named after the t shirt company Hurley and the band don’t have fond memories of the sessions. It’s a real blank spot in their catalogue and Rivers’ demos from the era don’t tell us much either. How did Michael Cera and Fred get involved? Why did they scrap the whole thing and hastily re-record it? Why do the band not like talking about it? It’s a bizarre period in the Weezer lore that we know so little about

I hope one day you do try to cover Hurley, it’s the album that’s always fascinated because of how little is known about it even by people like karl koch. How did Michael cera get involved, why was it scrapped and remade in 2 weeks, why does rivers care for it less than he does for raditude? This plus a million other questions!

I really like hurley i think it acts like a finale to the 2000s era of weezer with some songs having that "rad" vibe if raditude but some others like run away having that sincereness of some red songs
