Yeah, but it's a catch-22. To get to the preferences window I have to finish launching reaper. So, I should be finished implementing this tip by some time next week.

Reaper should just do what e.g. Ableton or Bitwig are doing: Scan them in the background! So you don't even notice usually...

I still have this problem, ever since is switch computers, my reaper startup time is like crazy long. like a minute 30.
I have gained alot of patience through this... lol but i really want to fix it, ill try that check box in the settings
