Recently, Peloton announced they have agreed to extend the refund period for the Tread+ until November 2023. Why would they do this? Well, Peloton also stated that they are “working on a rear guard that would address the hazard at the back of the treadmill but no repair has been approved to date, so there is a decent chance this in submission with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The approval process can take several months and so by extending the refund period they are likely hoping to be able to not only add this rear guard to all of the returned Peloton Tread+ but possibly allow those who still have them to have the guard installed, rather them seek a refund.
