This isn't a rumour, this is on the official Nintendo support page and IN THE MANUAL. 😂

If you know you aren't going to use a device with a battery for a long time, it's always a good idea to charge it to 50%~ and then power it off completely

Same goes for any device that you are storing with a battery charging to 50% will keep battery at most stable level

The battery doesn't "die" you just need to soft reboot it by pressing the volume buttons + power

Nice lil tip and thanks for the heads up. Btw a vid worth making that I learnt about is the lights on the xbox controller can actually be switched off or set as dim mode same for the console, its in the xbox settings itself 😮

You're supposed to keep your battery charged between 25-85% and you're never supposed to let the battery die. Keeping your battery between 25%-85% lowers the wear on it by 1/3. I actually have a setting on my phone so it stops charging at 85%

Feel bad for those who haven’t touched their switch in over 5 months

Do this with all li-on batteries. They can and probably will puff up if they are always full or always empty.

The idle discharge of the switch always felt too fast for me. I even power mine down completely.

Another good argument for user replaceable batteries.

Make sure its the official charger too, using a third party one makes this happen faster. But putting it back on the official charger should fix any issues after charging for a day or two and keeping it on the charge.

It's not a rumour and it's not just about the switch..its been standard for most batteries for over 10 years. Same with ur phones... and It doesn't kill ur switch. It makes them perform worse
