Please do not ever polish a brake disc!
Having them turned is the proper way but given how cheap they are(unless you buy oem or have carbon) then it’s just less downtime to replace.

If your pedal is poor do not change the brake pads and hope this will fix it there could be other reasons such as air in the brake system or a fluid leak. Get your car checked properly instead of following this guys advice. 10 years repairing cars you should know better!!!!
