You missed the part about it having a compression brake.

Having start/stop on these will be a nightmare. Most pointless thing to be put on vehicles. Thankfully it’s easily removed.

The Cummings engine. Known for lasting a million kilometers. Then they added EGR and DEF and cut it down to 500,000km. Now with a start stop feature it will probably cut that number in half too. Burning a tiny bit more fuel and making a little more smoke is better for the planet than replacing trucks 4 times as often!

As Tow Truck company owner, I'm very excited. If this is true, we're about to get some awesome trucks!

I wish the pickup truck engines were painted red lol that would be so bad ass! I have a second GEN third GEN sold my fourth GEN and now I have a fifth GEN Cummins and my 389 Heavy Haul spec Peterbilt has an X 15 pretty safe to say I’m a firm believer in their products lol

I assume they'll be installed in the 2500 and 3500 trucks? Is the 6.7 being replaced by this?

The tune that this has right now is probably chassis cab oriented, and the 2500 and 3500 trucks will get a different tune. Most likely still paired with the 8-speed ZF. About time Cummins/Ram started keeping up with Ford’s 40,000 pound towing capacity.

"Has an auto start/stop feature"
So the hardest on the engine feature a diesel engine has, starting and stopping, I will already predict the longevity will be seriously impacted.

I can't think of anything worse for a diesel engine than auto stop/start especially after going up a grade heavy and that turbo is glowing orange. Guess what happens when the engine is switched off; no more oil & coolant flow to the turbocharger. I hope there's aftermarket kits available to disable that useless feature.

Opinion on having any level lift for a ford f450 limited or king ranch for towing?
