2000-2005 Chavez averaged 30 homers a year and hit .278 and slugged .504. Around that span he also had 6 straight gold gloves. I agree that on the surface Chavez probably doesn't scream "99" but he's comparable to Matt Chapman as a defense-first 3rd baseman with pop, if they boosted him he could get a 99. I'd be all for it. I thought he was gonna be one of the guys you mentioned was left out of Moneyball. That team was pretty stacked in hindsight. They also had Jermaine Dye, a name I'd suggest for when you list new White Sox legends.
