www.camberfilms.com/ Aperture has TWO major affects on video, which is how aperture affects your video exposure and your video depth of field. The Aperture of the lens refers to the rings that can expand and retract much like the iris in your eyes to allow more or less light to pass through and reach the cameras sensor. Aperture affects exposure directly by letting in more light at the smaller "f" numbers and letting in less light at the larger "f" numbers. Aperture and depth of field is controlled by a more narrow depth of field at the smaller "f" numbers and a deeper depth of field at the higher "f" numbers. This video serves as an aperture guide for aperture in video because aperture for video is extremely important due to the effects of aperture on the style of the video. Aperture numbers explained throughout the video help you to better understand dslr aperture as well as how aperture and f stop numbers work. You should have a good understanding of what does aperture do on a camera after watching this aperture tutorial for beginners and should feel confident in being able to control your aperture settings manually.
