If I'm being honest what it really sounds like is that Ashoka is having thoughts about what would happen if she never left or maybe she has a dream where she is able to save her former master.

I don’t think it’s a what if scenario, it would more be like a world between worlds scenario. Her show is going to involve that a lot, so it wouldn’t surprise me if she went back to try and change things, thinking she could prevent order 66 or Vader’s creation.
