This year I went with the blanching technique; it’s a game-changer for preserving that garden-fresh goodness.
Here’s what I do:
Step 1️⃣: Bring a pot of water to a boil. #Blanching101 #PreserveTheGoodness
Step 2️⃣: Add the freshly harvested snapped peas to the boiling water for 1-2 minutes. This helps lock in their colour/flavour.

Step 3️⃣: Immediately transfer the blanched peas into a bowl of ice-cold water. This stops the cooking process and maintains their crispness. #KeepItCrisp #PreserveTheCrunch
Step 4️⃣: Once cooled, drain the peas thoroughly. #DrainAndChill
Step 5️⃣: Time to freeze them! Place the blanched and drained peas in an airtight ziplock bag, removing as much air as possible. Use a straw! It’s super easy. #FreezeForLater #StockedForSeasons
