My issue is that any whining about it sounds like elitism, why stop kids from being able to get rex behind a $600 stupid large set when many would just want their favorite character to play with?
Like i get if you bought a $600 dollar set specifically for rex you would be mad, but anybody who did that is also, this may be harsh but, stupid? Fully expecting lego to lock a fan favorite character in a $600 pack forever is dumb and believing massive corporations face value is how you lose money and time.

Microfighter is awesome, not just easy access to Rex, but a republic Y-wing microfighter, but I can honestly see why many people are upset about this set due to feeling like those bought the Venator just for Rex were lied to

As someone who couldn’t afford the UCS vendor, I see this set as an absolute win but I would have loved it even more if it was a normal sized Y- Wing and not a Microfighter

They should’ve put his waist cape in the UCS venator. I know it’s a small change but they did the same thing to boba Fett and people were fine with it

You shouldn’t be so hung up on Lego falsely stating it’s exclusivity. This only negatively impacts scalpers and thank goodness for that! And no, an exclusive Venator Rex print would obviously cause further gatekeeping for those who desire it but cannot afford it.

They probably didn’t expect the amount of sales they gotten rom it and when they realized that changed their mind and decided to make a set around it probably making more money cause like 5 sets sold every month is ok but up to 20,000 sales of a $15 might be slightly more profitable. (No these number are not accurate but I am just giving an example)
