I freaking love this song even though I've never read the book. I saw The Arcadian Wild live in Green Lake, Wisconsin last October and I got to talk to all 4 of them after the concert. We were talking about this song and I was telling them how before I knew the song was based on a book, I was like, "I hope Isaac's okay!" And it made Lincoln laugh 🤣

People keep recommending this book to me, but until I heard you describe it just now, I did not realize it was a book I’ve already read. It is one of the very few books I had to stop 3/4 of the way through, which may be a first for me. I found it problematic. (here I started writing about what bothered me and why, but I realized those are spoilers for those who have not read it.) I had a lot of problems with suspending my disbelief after the writer’s lack of consideration in a particular area. The writing style also may not have been for me, I think I felt I was being told what to think, what lessons to learn along the way. I m not sure as it’s been at least 12 years since I tried to read it. I was unable to appreciate the author’s goals. Yet many people I admire enjoyed and recommend this book. It’s so interesting. Now I’m off to listen to more of your music as I certainly started following you for a reason! Have a great week.

Even though I know the message is widely accessible to everyone, I love how well it can be interpreted as a plea or a prayer of faith. Really touched me, thank you so much for writing it
