Kurzgesagt does a brilliant video on how humans probably developed consciousness. It's worth a watch.

The first thing you have to do is define “consciousness.”

It could be a good thought experiment to ponder why and /or how evolution, random mutations and or natural selection would produce a being that would have a conversation like the one in this video.

I always liked how Star Trek TNG would tackle this question many of its episodes...and even some of Star Trek's TOS episodes

That's an interesting thought for sure!

With zombies, there come differences. If there are some connoisseur here: I'd say, as an example, zombies from "Walking Dead" (or "28 Days later", or most asian ones, etc.) have no consciousness, but the ones from "I am Legend" (or "Last of us", etc.) do.

I really appreciate your efforts! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

Maybe. Maybe there are people out there that actually do NOT have consciousness, but fool us into thinking that they do.

Q1: Our brains are zombies,no?!
A2: It will behave like you prior to the 20 sec of new you.
A3: It will have a collective conscious, as opposed to individual zombie like conscious.

It might be possible to create a fully automated robot that outwardly acts similar to a human being, but without first-person awareness and consciousness it doesn't truly exist as a person would be my understanding of it.

Consciousness or conscience

The experiment’s premise is flawed because you say from the get-go that the beings act exactly like us. Would something without a consciousness act like us? After a definition, probably the first question to ask

No they wouldn't, the parasite that has taken over has only one purpose and that is to propagate, there is no thought process it's only there to consume and multiply, now if it was like the Flood from Halo, it absolutely has a consciousnes

Oh man. That title. Should be:
Do zombies have consciousness?
or
Are zombies conscious?

But as is, it's 3rd grade level grammar. I expect better from a channel this closely associated with Dr Tyson

The silver hawk guy looks like he's in zombie mode within that present moment lol and probably loaded. . .off of some serious foreign extra Guinness stout 😄

Consciousness is just us complicating needing to eat, sleep, "what's that?", "that hurts", make more people, feed baby people, try to stay alive. 🤷🏾‍

I think therefore I... Brains😂

I cant help but think of consciousness as we understand it as an illusion to our senses, being not just the brain but the whole body one of nature's most effitient information processors: chemically and slower in the body and faster electrically in the brain. And i also dont like the idea of calling a calcium rock "unconscious" just because it doesn't possess as many information processing policies as a human or a dog or a bacteria for that matter. Isn't everything in the end just nodes of information processing information?

It would be a lot easier to create a simulation without any first-person consciousness existing within this simulation. But a simulation is designed by a conscious mind, whereas evolution occurred apparently without design.
