Well said! This game is amazing and I agree to almost everything you said. I play souls and souls-like games and it's not souls-like. However, if you enjoy those games, this is a very good recommendation to play. As far as the game being linear, I still and really enjoy how vast most areas are to explore for how it is and some games are more linear than Black Myth. Definitely a 9.5/10 for me too man ๐

There is a lot of branches and hidden things. More than GoW and less then Elden ring for sure.

Didn't read much about the game and didn't realize it was a souls game, despite some comments here telling you otherwise here. And every 5 minutes or less there's a boss. You die, you don't start at the boss. You start from the shrine, run again to the boss and try again. Not my cup of tea, but since I bought it I'll finish it.

I think what a lot of players dont seem to realise is by making you follow a path and having all these discussions with npc, you cant ignore the story.
The story is always there and you follow it.
The dev paired that with extremely solide combat and stunning graphics so honnestly i woulsnt be surprise seeing this as contender for game of the year
