So what probably happened was the Judge was hoping there would be a plea deal in the criminal case, and you trial could be completed so the judge could take two cases off they're docket.

I was number 23 on the trial list. I was working as the state Assistant AG so I drove down about 90 minutes to the courthouse. The local county prosecutors were so unprepared on the 22 cases ahead of mine, the judge asked me if I had my witness ready to go. I, of course said no, I was 23rd on the docket and can't just have them show up every roll call. She chewed me out on the record. I drove back home and called all my witness to be there the next morning. Ridiculous idiotic judge.

The bigger problem is the witnesses. Expert witnesses are expensed, the eye witnesses are going to screwed, you can not pay them, you just hope they are unionized and can get their time off paid if under supena.

If the court had to pay for witnesses lost wages, maybe the judges would be more thoughtful in their scheduling of cases. Judges should be held accountable for their actions,( or inactions, as the case may be). đâ¤

The right to a fair and expedient trial should mean within the year of the crime. Itâs so wrong that people have to be on bail that long, especially for those who canât make bail. Our judicial system needs to change so that itâs far more efficient. Witnesses and jury members shouldnât be inconvenienced like this either.

Some civic meetings, it's intentional to get people to leave before they have a chance to voice their concerns.... Basically sometimes even forcing you to wait until day 5.

So, what I'm hearing is that you got to experience first-hand how people feel about jury duty. Most people summoned for jury duty just lose a whole day and are shuffled around from room to room. Very few even actually sit on a trial.
