You make many enemies internal and external, you are doomed to collapse. Too many people idealise Sparta too much, their military abilities get overhyped and their many deficiencies get ignored.

Probably didnt help that they had a 2 king system where the 2 kings usually kept trying to kill each other lol

Athens seems to have played better on the field of economics and politics, ensuring a victory in the long run, despite Sparta's early military superiority.

You forgot the most important thing: population. Like you said, they were focusing only in military and they would accept only the only ones who could hard fight and also the ones that didn't have sny important problem of health

In the most critical moment in the life of Sparta, it faced no less than one of the most talented strategists in the history of war and one helluf master tactician, Epaminondas of Thebes.

The main reason was that the Spartan social system caused a decline in the number of men available for its army. The army was drawn entirely from the class of what are often today called Spartiates. A man could lose "caste" quite easily, say by showing any sort of weakness in battle, or even in training. But there was impossible for others in Spartan society to gain caste. At one time Sparta could field an army of perhaps 10,000 to 12,000 men. By the time it lost out to Thebes it was probably struggling to field half that number.

In short when you want constant war, it's really hard to replace everyone

Sparta collapsed because of lack of social mobility. It was easy to lose status of a spartan and impossible to gain it. Over time, Sparta ran out of Spartans!

funnily enough, Sparta's final victory in conquering Greece started it's downfall. Sparta had no-one else to fight and got corrupted by spoils of war, the wealth it was trying to avoid integrating in it's society.
Coupled with many years long military service causing couples to constantly, constantly cheat on each other, Sparta fell short on replacement rates and by the time it was conquered there was like ā…’ of it's peak population

Sparta is truly the weirdest state entity to ever exist

Thebes also innovated using Pikes that had longer reach then Spartan spears . In the battle , they concentrated most of their force on Spartan royal battalion, killing the king and routing the Spartan army .
