I've been in Turin, Italy less than a week and already did my first hike!

We took the train to Bardonecchia and started hiking in Italy but soon crossed into France and hiked in the Hautes Alpes.

First stop was at the Refuge I Re Magi (3 Wise Men) for a hearty lunch of polenta where I learned that Italians have their coffee AFTER dessert, not with it (somehow I never noticed this before, maybe it's because I rarely order dessert, but almost everyone did today)

Then, we continued on to the beautiful Lac Vert (Green Lake).

The area is gorgeous so it's no surprise that the refuge is on the GR5, GT, Via Alpina AND the Tour du Thabor.

Was a great introduction to hiking in the area with great people doing really interesting things. I'm SOOO excited to explore more!
