When the prey is within striking distance, the frogfish can open its mouth incredibly fast, creating a vacuum that sucks the prey in, all in a fraction of a second.

Hairy frogfish come in a variety of colors, including yellow, orange, red, brown, and even white, allowing them to blend into different types of environments, such as coral reefs, sponges, or the sea floor. Their ability to change color over time to match their surroundings further enhances their camouflage.
