There was a new estate opened up beside us and I found myself in a random house with a little girl I had just met and her parents. We were eating fish fingers and chips. I was about seven. Came home two hours later . Nobody missed me and I just sat down to sausages beans and chips. Happy times šŸ˜‚

Note -"child has been found". Not the parents asking staff to help to look for their child..

I was happy being lost. Climbing trees. Capturing tadpoles. Being Wonder Woman. Running away from boys playing kiss chasing, Eating dinner in other peopleā€™s houses.( if you were lucky you might score a findus crispy pancake- the mince one, and maybe if the family was rich a soda stream fizzy drink !!) Ignoring the littler children saying ā€œ your Mammy wants you for your dinner - youā€™ve to go homeā€. No no. I stayed lost until the last child was called in or disappeared and even then Iā€™d walk them home, in the dark. Happy days. ā¤ā¤

My parents would get on with what they were doing and it was up to us to keep up. They went from shop to shop without once turning around to look if we were following. 1960s.

Omg. Weā€™d be in the back of the station wagon, no seatbelts back there, begging mom to go on the ā€œfun streetā€.

Lots of bends and curves.

And my mom, chainsmoking in the driverā€™s seat, was just kinda like ā€œSure, why notā€

Building bridges, Jarlath. Thatā€™s what youā€™re doing here :)

I was born in 65 and they didnā€™t even have car seats back then! I also lived in Puerto Rico and then Miami as a child and spent a lot of time at the beach with no sunscreen! I hope I donā€™t get skin cancer. šŸ˜®
