My baby is 4 weeks today. I am so blessed to have a great village but some days are still tough. Most of those days are due to exhaustion. Take a good hot shower or bath, go for a walk or an outing even when your body is begging to stay in bed and remember to ask for help. Youre gonna need it

I was exclusively breastfeeding AND pumping 1-2x/day extra and I still got my period exactly 3mo pp, meaning I very well could have gotten pregnant again at some point in that third month! You never know when your first postpartum cycle can start, so definitely be careful!

This!!! My last baby, I had massive clots, and my L&D nurses said it was fine. 🙄 I’m so glad I followed my intuition and had brought some essential oils with me that help to reduce bleeding

Yes!! I'd love to see someone talk about taking only ibuprofen and doing NOTHING for two weeks after a c-section. I tried to do some housework too soon after my first 3 c-sections and leaned on the narcotics way more. The 4th baby, my husband said, don't do anything except take care of yourself and the baby.
Get paper plates, ask friends or family to take out the trash and let more things go.
Also, I'd like to know when I can start exercising and taking longer walks. I'm 5 weeks pp, and I still feel my incision get sore after.a few hours in the kitchen. So frustrating 😅

If you’re a family member and worried the new parents will have postpartum depression, take a week off and just cook for them and show up solely to clean (with their permission!).
I got my sister a baby blues medicinal tonic that’s safe for breast feeding, plus some company for a week with a clean house and some vital nutrients, she was feeling a lot better.

The nurse who gave me the rundown told me these exact words and i always giggle when im reminded of them.
"No tampons, fingers, boys or toys for six weeks" 😂😂😂 she was awesome, i hope shes still doing well.
Edit: also, ladies, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't lie on your postpartum depression screenings. I was so scared that I was going to get in trouble for being honest about how poorly I was doing and still refusing help. I didn't have a car, and my husband worked, so I couldn't attend appointments and I couldn't stand being on the phone.

Thankfully, with all 3 of my earth bond babies, my AF didn't return till I was 18 months PP while EBF. Definitely very blessed to have been able to go that long without AF. Fortunately/unfortunately... I only saw AF for 2-3 cycles before getting pregnant again 🫣
