Never expected the end of the world to simultaneously be this boring and expensive. 0/10.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper. The Hollow Men by T. S. Eliot

You can be forced to adapt to sudden circumstance, the gradual collapse is much easier to overlook until the snowball effect is too great to ignore and too great to stop. -I don't think we're there yet, still have plenty of aspects for correcting towards a livable world that haven't hit critical mass. That list is shrinking too, so please, keep a little bit of noncrippling fear in your mind

"the event" vs. "the slow function of social forces" this is one of the core things that separates current right and left in their understanding of the world

If our real-world apocalypse were a movie: "Pick a lane! Pick a concept and stick with it! This apocalypse film is throwing spaghetti at the wall at a head-spinning rate, making it both difficult to follow and boring at the same time. Too many cooks in the kitchen on this script, not enough of a singular vision. With more focus in pre-production, it could've been salvaged but as it stands: 2/10"

A few bars from kendrick that i always loved: “i feel like this gotta be the feeling where Pac was, The feeling of an apocalypse happening but nothing is awkward, the feeling won't prosper, the feeling is toxic”

Why I love the original 70s Mad Max. Society is crumbling, and you never need to know why

This is why I like subreddits like r/Aboringdystopia and other online forums that allow people to really grasp onto the current state of things. Because that is the reality, we are living in dystopian conditions, but it is all so dull and normalized at this point that it is easy to miss just HOW bad things are, and if you are still waiting for the big "event" then you're gonna be waiting for a while.

A system of things inextricable from ourselves as individuals, families, cultures, and small and large scale communities. We literally live in a society and killing the world.

Saw someone refer to the end of the world as many “crumbles” rather than a singular collapse

I love how you picked Deep Impact and the Last of Us, Michael. Totally opposite ends of the apocalypse spectrum! Lol!

Eventually it'll really pop off when the Water Wars of 2041 get going and you'll be forced to fight for the Bezos Dynasty against the Empire de Zuck. Boring for now, not boring forever.
