Iâm in my 30s. I go to shows maybe 4-5 times a year. I watch bands on YouTube and enjoy it. I buy merch. I donât claim to be part of the scene anymore but I think I do ok supporting. Kids indeed need to go to shows as thatâs where theyâll build a community and keep things going.. but my old ass ainât goin to a show every week.

Mindforce is a great band. This is unfortunate that he's alienating people who only watch videos and listen to music. I'm 36 years old with 4 children. I'd like to go to more shows but I have many responsibilities and live in a semi rural area. Not many bands come through here. Id imagine many other fans are in a similar as their particular sound is kind of old school so they attract older fans.

This made me mad. The thing that attracted me to the hardcore scene in the first place was that it was all inclusive. Why are you actively gatekeeping against new fans? I get that music scenes come from strong communities but this has big âyouâre not cool enough to sit at our lunch tableâ vibes to me. If you donât want my eyes watching then donât worry, I will keep them away from you. Theres a never ending list of valid reasons why people are unable to attend shows and watching online is the only access we have sometimes, doesnât make you any less of a fan imo.
