I would also pre-tension the film before closing the back by using the rewinding the film slightly before advancing the film into the take up spool. That way after you close the back and advance the film to the number one, you will see the rewind lever rotating as you advance the film. This way you know the film is properly connected to the spool and has not slipped off.
