In The New Scooby-Doo Movies Season 1, Episode 2, “The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair” (1972), the gang is stunned when Batman and Robin suddenly appear in the middle of their investigation. Daphne Blake (voiced by Heather North) gasps, “It’s Batman and Robin!” Scooby-Doo (Don Messick) echoes, “Batman and Robin!” Fred Jones (Frank Welker) asks, “What are you doing here?” Batman, voiced by Olan Soule, replies in his steady tone, “Robin and I were on routine Bat Patrol in Gotham City.” Robin, voiced by Casey Kasem, adds, “When we detected an airplane overhead flying without lights.” Batman continues, “Suspecting that someone might be smuggling contraband into the country, we followed the plane on our Batmobile radar scope.” Robin concludes, “And it led us to this old farmhouse.” Batman looks at the gang and commands, “Now let’s have a look at that crate.” The camera closes in on the mysterious wooden box as Scooby gulps nervously—classic Saturday morning suspense!
