Spoiler for those who haven’t seen the movie:
Kate and her friends are getting ready to drive into a tornado in order to distinguish it with a formula that she has been working on, but she ends up doing the exact opposite and creates an EF5 tornado instead, They had to run over to an overpass, but three of her friends were knocked into the tornado and killed leaving Kate as the only Survivor, that tornado said the basis of the movie and gave Kate severe trauma.
