I like the theory that Jayce, Ekko and heimer were transported through time, seeing the end result of the hex corruption. Likely fighting for survival the whole time they were gone.
Jayce was either sent back by ekko or forced ekko to send him back. Viktor is the source spreading the hex like a virus. In fact, When he is talking to Silo, he saw Silo and the people in the Utopia as faceless, dark figures with the same corruption patterns. He doesn't see them as people. He sees them as the monsters he saw in the "future"

99% of what Victor does in act 2 is pure. But, Jayce gets visions/glimts that only lasts maybe 10 frames here and there that show a different picture, look for it when he first talks to Salo.
I think the writers are framing Victor as the good guy and Jayce as the bad guy.
But the writers are giving us small hints like this that they might flip the script and make Jayce the good guy.
This might also just be Jayces mind beeing srewed up like how Jinx also sees things.

I also believe there is a fundamental conflict between the blue hex stone and the arcane magic. They are different.
That’s why all the blue hex gear glitched when the arcane was activated.
Jayce was the only one to enter the arcane realm with the blue stone,
I believe his mind glitched like the technology did during the Vi and Jinx battle in episode 3.
When Jayce removes the stone in his wrist he may gain back his sanity.

My theory is that he fought the evil version of Viktor that is in the game, and now he's back, and whether or not this version of Viktor is good or not is irrelevant, he has to die, to save everything.
Now I do think Viktor is doing good, healing and what not, but he just doesn't know what exactly he's doing, just caught up in the nirvana of the whole thing

Considering this is Arcane there’s no way Jayce just went insane, he absolutely saw the downside of Viktor’s Jesus arc. I mean granted Viktor helped a lot of people but it looked TOO GOOD to be true, my crush Jay-I mean my main man Jayce would never do anything wrong.
