How old is this video? I thought China lifted its one child policy. Chinese and Indian cultures heavily promote having male offspring which in itself causes overpopulation and a disproportionate number of females because couples will keep having children until they have a son. Which is a good reason to create reforms regarding procreation.
When you really break it down, limiting population is antithetical to the goals of a tyrannical regime. With the rise of automation, it's actually quite sensible, given the limited capacity of the planet to support as many people as there are.

If China hadn't implemented the one-child policy, the vicious execution of it notwithstanding, China would have swallowed the entire planet whole with yellows, not counting those of Chinese ancestry born outside China such as myself.
Today, one of out five is ethnically Chinese. Imagine one out of three.
