Yeah, as a worship minister I can confirm: You do transfer your theology through music. Nothing bad and wrong about that. The Psalms are the largest part of the Bible and this book is cited the most. The problem would be not THAT theology is transferred but the theology itself. And if what you are singing is biblical and pure, go for it. Your personal experience and understanding plays into it as well. For example: Matt Redman's "Blessed be your name" has a bridge part that is derived from Job. However, I don't like it because it carries some heavier weight in a negative sense (as Job actually was very depressed) - I would not sing that as it to me affirms the negativity more than it stresses out the positivity in that statement. I don't believe that bridge part helps depressed people. Another example: Eddie James's "Better than life" is a pure encouragement to listen to and to sing yourself. So, yes. Theology is implied in music (even in secular music) and that is good. I suppose, those people have a problem with the theology of Bethel and so forth. But then again, let them say THAT exactly and not criticize a fact which is actually very biblical.

It's just that Wimber moved the ball far enough down field that vineyard is not as offensive to the Christian community as we were when we started pushing the envelope on the worship scene and people thought it heresy not because it was bad theology but because it was evil music in their opinion. In many ways bethel is part of the logical extension of what Wimber started but vineyard has influenced most realms within the Christian church . Bethel will have its long term stamp on it as well and in 20 years they'll be talking about bethel in the same terms he's talking about vineyard now and in light of whatever the next move of God looks like that will push the envelopes of those "old mainstream bethelites" ...

Hey bro I just want to say I really appreciate your channel. For a long time I have wanted to provide answers to all the accusations that are thrown against us charismatics. Looks like you have been doing it for a while. Point to note, I do like Mike Winger in most of what he says but I appreciate your correction here of his error. Keep it coming
