The masking part is confusing as hell if you're trying to manually write and read data through websockets (i.e. not using a library). Obviously, you should use a library, but if you're trying to learn websockets, do it by hand or even copy-paste StackOverflow code, but avoid libraries because if the library breaks, you're not gonna know wtf to diagnose.

Hello! There are a keep-alive small size messages between usual TCP sockets. For example a server sends it and asks "are you alive?" A client must responsed. When not - the server sends roughly 10 messages and when the response hasn`t been received - closes connection. WHY don`t use this mechanism between a browser and a server?It would be much easy that websocket
