The anime name : Ancient Magus Bride
Context : The person cutting the cat is the husband of the women who was turned into the black gooey thing is the white haired kid looking guy is an alchemist experimenting on humans he manipulated him into feeding his wife cat blood making him belive that she will be cured from her disease but it didn't happen instead she suffered. The cat who killed the guy was the queen of the cats.
I won't spoil much okay so watch the anime yourself and also it has more than one season so enjoy your watch the anime is highly recommended by me it is worth the time.

That was so sad. Matthew was just a pawn. The villain (=Cartaphilus) used his desperation and fear to lose his wife who was ill to conduct experiments with the goal to find a cure for Mina.
It was just a lie or more like a game and in the end, Matthe pay the price with blood and a curse giving by all the cats he killed. Mina chose to stay with those angry cats souls and Matthew's damned soul until someone will come to destroy or save them.

This masterpiece of a show is called Ancient Magus Bride. The show dives into many many myths and folklore, and you can really see the love the author had for the lore and details. On top of that, it digs deep into themes like self-pity, self-sacrifice, self-worth, and whether or not you yourself are worth loving. The white-haired character is Cartaphilus, who is an evil sorcerer, and he tricks people into practicing dark arts for his experiments. In this case, Mathew just happened to be the easiest person to manipulate. His wife is very weak and sick, and so he asked Cartaphilus for help. He said that cats have 9 lives and to extract those lives from cats and make a potion out of cats for his wife. Thus, the scene here. The cat that killed him is the king of cats, and he deemed Matthew irredeemable. Mina and Matthew end up beind bound together by an impurity and Chise the main character ends up freeing them.

I still can't watch that episode. After seeing it the first time, when I rewatch the series, I skip that episode 😢 Now, the next episode that concludes it is absolutely beautiful. And the episodes she makes her wand, I watched over and over. "On these wings"

Say what you will, but that man has a fragile integrity. I understand if the wife was kidnapped by some evil being, but her illness shouldn't have been a reason for him to go out killing. He knew his wife wouldn't have been okay with it but he was so engrossed in his own selfish quest for satisfaction that he failed to acknowledge what she would think about all of it. He's a fool.

For those who saw her husband as pure villain, the main culprit was that White hair girl and she is pure villain
Her husband was just a fool believing her that this could cure her wife as she was dieing due to some illness and due to which he believed her like anyone would for the love
