Every time I come back from a trip I apply the ‘do I really need to take that again’ question…

And every time I come up with a new gadget I try to balance it with ‘and what will I take out now’?

Lastly, there’s ‘can I replace this version of a thing with a smaller, lighter version’?

‘There are a few valid ‘just in case’ items though. Like a first aid kit or à flashlight…or two flashlights…or three… :)

Lol Bob the bomb….I always carry a mini flashlight. Been caught in electrical outages and dead iPhone too many times! A good exception IME to the “no just-in-case”. Another one is my own snacks and water on board the plane. Been trapped on tarmac too many times. Meds should go without saying, but you would NOT BELIEVE how many people on my last such delay boarded without meds they said they absolutely had to have, before we got going.

Ah, the only just in case I bring is a spare set of hearing aids. Just in case! I’ve experienced a European railway station without working hearing aids. Disaster.
