On a Yamaha with a poly finish marker is easily removed with an mild abrasive polish like toothpaste, or alcohol, naphtha or even acetone. But on lacquer or French Polish it's not quite so easy.

You can always use isopropyl alcohol to remove permanent marker from nonporous surfaces, and it doesn’t leave any damage.

Can I use it on the fretboard?? I know it'll smell like toothpaste but im ok. Or rubbing alcohol. Might use alcohol. I think it can remove the grit and grime under the frets
