Companies do in fact give notice that an employee is getting fired; ANY kind of negative documentation is notice, not just a PIP.

I’m actually a manager who is about to put someone on a PIP. I’ve tried coaching the guy for 6 months and there are continual lapses in production. It’s not easy for those of us on the other side of the table. I feel like a failure because I couldn’t coach the employee . However the employee has been at the company longer than I have and still hasn’t picked up all the technical basics. This person’s lack of performance is dragging down the team as other teammates have to cover for this person

Depends. I put two people on pips who improved their ways off of it. Of course the issue was truly their performance and not about me disliking them. They’re both much better at the jobs because of it. Those pips are distant memories.

I will be damn someone other than me my job put me on a PIP but here is the twist I did what policy instructed and I made of of them look stupid. Of course I filed an EEO for retaliation. 😊 @bossupculturet
