Vocally, this is the best Kingston Trio of all...Love to see them in person. They did an in person DVD, but the sound came from a studio recording with all the vocals doubled....Hope they do it again sometime and use direct sound.

Sweet version of this old KT screamer. George Grove's frailing banjo is mixed down a little. Great to have this on You Tube, though.

They were one of my favorites as a youngster. This is pretty good but it's a shame the regular crew isn't around.

George, Bill, and Rick are some of the best pickers and singers to come down the pike in a long time. I'm glad they're all in the "Trio". This song is a trio classic.

"Corey Corey" was the song that got me hooked on the Kingston Trio when I was a kid.  That, and "Good News."  I so miss the originals.

Did these guys buy the name or something? I wonder if I can buy the Beatles? Might get a few bucks on the side.......

I agree the banjo aint loud enough. Can't detract from the power of the KT though. Great to see em up here.

I'd like to add, George performs the intro lick, then the others snap to, joining immediately. This is the mark of rigid practice standards, which was a pivotal point with the original Trio.

Yup. The Mike Seeger version, on the other hand, is amazing.

George Grove can easily be qualified as an "original" member of the K3. And yes, the original guys - from two "original" trios- are no longer with us, or able to participate (R.I.P. Dave, John, and Nick; All deeply loved and missed), Bob Shane has brought together two men that, with George< are able to put over a show very much like the original guys. Thank you, Bobby! I'm certain the others are looking down from heaven and loving every minute of it.

I didn't think anyone could come close to the original line-up or Stewart era but, I really enjoyed this.

I grew up playing this off the original album, and that version was flat-out astounding. They're having fun here, but try to track down to the original. The vocals were spot-on...

Some of the commenters on this and other Kingston Trio postings have mentioned that this isn't the original group. Unfortunately 3 of the 4 men most associated with the Trio are dead and from what I've read Bob Shane's health no longer allows him to travel. BUT George Grove has been a member of the group for a LONG time, the other two current members are folk music veterans, and I think that Bob Shane still has controlling rights to the group. They're great musicians and do the name proud.

No question, this version of the Trio is great, but the Dave Guard version of the original Kingston Trio has depth and harmony that forged the popularity of their version of folk music.

is it me, or is this song just too short? Can we throw a few more verses in there?
