I don't care about Powerscaling, but I do want to see my favourite anime characters fight, but in a way that's fun like how the characters would act and speak to each other during a fight.

One Piece has a unique powerscaling system called context. The fights just depend on the context. So if someone loses a fight to someone, they may win against that person next time. Post East Blue you don’t really get one sided fights. The New World especially has people constantly growing. It’s why Arlong who used to seem as strong as Jinbe, became weak, because he kicked it back for ten years terrorizing average people.

It’s because to a writer narrative matters more than feats.
Like people try to downplay Law and Kid as YC level when Oda gave them both 3 billion berry bounty and made them beat Big Mom.
Also just because Kaido has shown a lot of feats people try mental gymnastics to make him stronger than everyone that hasn’t shown much.
ODA does NOT CARE that we like pirates more than Marines or that we like strawhats more than other characters.
It’s HIS story and naturally we have to follow what he says.

So what i see is folks think powerscaling is important to battle stuff. What they dont realize is that its completely fan made and not writer made. The thing is those same people probably never read a book or watched anything for fun only for violence.
