As a satisfied customer with the NVG30 form GoodNiteGear. I will say, this beats gen 1 night vision if not very close or equivalent to gen 2. From my experience NVG30 absolutely favors ambient city light pollution bounce from the clouds. You can even see clearly in the shrubs or woods with no IR. Even with moon lighting this NVG30 will be king in moonlight. It will be like day! In absolute darkness the IR light I absolutely appreciate the power of brightness it has. Super satisfied with the NVG30

I would say its performance is equivalent to early gen 2 night vision. Absolutely impressive! I canβt wait for o se the next gen they will come out with after Nvg30
