Many times the grill is retained in other manufacturers because it is a pivotal branding element. The shape of the grill is unique to each brand ie the kidney bean from bmw. Tesla is a brand that didn’t have an established combustion based grill branding so they weren’t tied to translating it into an EV application.

Recently I really attracted to Mazda, would really love to see if you could cover their design

Mid/rear engined cars also dont have a grille so this is not an exclusive to electric vehicles

No grill but there is this flat nose in place of it,, like on the front end of a... 1958 Renault Caravelle.

Both the prominence or concealment of a grille is, in great deal, a design decision, it’s not a requirement for an ICE car.

Cooling and airflow is required for both ICE and EV cars, you can tell, because there’s a breather below the nose, and ICE cooling requirements, particularly in smaller engine ICE cars, are such that not much larger vents are required, even if such engine is in the front.

Think Mazda MX-5, Chevrolet Corvette, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Passat, late 90’s and early 2000’s Dodges, maybe Fiat 500.

I think EV’s with plastic paneling in place of grilles are silly. Truly simulated grilles are a thing already used in ICE cars, that could be in an EV but that wouldn’t truly convey the fact is an EV and not an ICE car. The plastic paneling is probably done to tie them aesthetically with an ICE counterpart, while preserving its EV-ness.

Vw bug vw bus just about any 911 a corvare or Karman gia bmw did one or two in the 50s or 60s

A lot of the wedge shaped cars have grills effectively so low i wouldn't consider them gills from a design point of view

And yet the tesla is the only one that looks odd i cant put it into words but it looks artificial like no hands developed the shape

Yet another reason tesla is better, hey don't include something if it doesn't work. All the others have to pay extra just to put in a grill design that doesn't work it's just stupid😂
