This is awesome. As a cosmetologist, I didn't have the chance to learn acrylics. I'm excellent with polygel and other gel products, though, and I always so appreciate people trusting me with trying something new.

Im not going to anyone to get my nails done anymore. Its hard to find someone go do hard gel nails and last two people i went to for dip and gel, neither lasted longer than a week. Its just so hard to do my dominant hand myself.

I went and got my nails done a couple of weeks back. I have really short nails and decided to treat myself after stopping nail biting
I asked for super short, a) work requirement and b) because I’m not used to long nails and going too long actually hurts at this stage.
The nail technician was really judgemental and insisted I went long because it looks “nicer on my short fingers” 😭 I’ve never had great experiences with nail technicians in my local area, I wish you were closer (12,500km closer, I’m Australia

I dunno. Acrylic work can be very pretty, but when i have acrylic nails on me I feel like it’s always too thick. I cannot get acclimated to it, I just always want them removed asap. Gel feels better to wear. Why I think it does matter a bit what the end-user wants as well.

I wanted to try acrylic but the smell was unbearable to me. Was I unlucky or is it known? My companion was not disturbed by the smell so I suppose it was just me

Suzy I don't know if you will see this but I wanted to share that since discovering you're youtube channel around 2017 I have now become a Nail Technician in 2024. I practiced on myself most of your lessons and now as a nail tech I keep referring back to your older videos and new ones to get even better as I work on clients. Thank you, even tho we do not know each other personally you have been as much a teacher in my life as the ones I've had in highschool and college have been in my personal life.
