Wakes up.
Sees his neighbor running back and forth with roman armor.
Decides to lay down and rest more.

The instant I heard the sound of the armor plates clinking together as he ran, I imagined an entire legion of them, all making the sound together until they sounded like an thunder hurtling towards me and a shiver went down my spine. That would be utterly terrifying.

I don’t know why, but I find this to be so wholesome. Just a man and his armor, enjoying life.

My church once did a passion play. I was a Roman soldier with armor much like that. Honestly, running and moving in it was far more comfortable than standing in it.

Imagine an open field of guys like this running at you.

Back in the 1950s when I was a young recruit in the Parachute Regiment we had to go ten miles across rough terrain with a 10 pound rifle and about 50 pounds of kit, then do some accurate shooting and do it all in less than 2 hours. We were fit. I imagine that with all the marching they did the Romans were at least as fit.

If you're expected to fight in it, then you can probably run in it.

$100 if you walk into a gym and do that on a treadmill.

Imagine you're in a park or something and Metatron just comes at you full speed

I mean I would have thought the answer would be obvious. Roman Legions were well known for having to march long distances in a single day. And while a march isn't as demanding as a full sprint, surely in combat there were times when you would have needed to move quickly.

Remember these were superbly physically condition men. They trained hard and their ability cover vast distances on the roman roads was legendary. I doubt that they much felt the wt of their armor. Any way romans were not supposed to be running away.
i think at times they carried a pack, but at other times they may of had wagons assigned to carry some of their equipment. I am not sure about that.

This proves not only that Romans could run in gear but that they looked amazing doing it.

If Monty Python just taught me one thing, then that the romans could perform house searches at the speed of light

Brutal. I would not want to be infront of a guy weighing 220+ pounds in shining armor full on sprinting at me
