From a vet student and someone who’s worked in vet med. This is 100% percent FALSE. In school from our undergrad years to actual vet school. The people who actually educate us are Board certified veterinarian nutritionist. PhD Animal nutritionist along with many other scientists specializing in Animal Nutrition. And veterinary’s who recommend the Big 5 ONLY do so because there’s decades of Science and research put into those foods. We recommend brands like Purina Hills RC Iams etc. is because they are made by REAL experts in Animal Nutrition. like the ones mentioned above. The reason we don’t typically recommend Raw diets is because 1 Domesticated dogs are NOT wolves in fact we’ve domesticated dogs so much to the point we’re the average domesticated dog can’t handle raw meat and Just because you’re personal experience with you’re dogs says otherwise is irrelevant because you’re just simply getting lucky. It doesn’t change the fact that the newest pre reviewed research in Animal Nutrition specifically domesticated dogs & cats in 2022 and 2023 alone has shown over and over again that raw diets including pre made raw diets are contaminated full of salmonella & E. coli along many other things that are both harmful to our pets & humans. I know you’ll most likely won’t take any of this seriously since you + majority of your community have little to NO respect for veterinarian’s. Maybe actually take time to research and actually learn about the Science of pet food and everything veterinarians/ vet med staff go through before making such False claims and Harmful/ Misleading statements.
