Yeah this applies for everyone. The point of a date is to spend time with someone and getting to know them. Being on your phone shows you have no interest in the person, and it's just rude. I also think that people should split checks. I think there are many men who are expected to pay who get taken advantage of and get ghosted since men are expected to pay.

I agree. Nobody should be disrespected. I do feel that if a woman is doing something that makes a man feel disrespected, he should address it. Maybe he could say... "you are a beautiful woman, and I am really interested in spending more time getting to know you, but it's distracting when you are spending the time we have together talking on the phone. Don't get me wrong, if it's something important you should absolutely handle it. Or if you need to go take care of something, we can reschedule and get together at another time..." We are ultimately saying the same thing, but just like a man shouldn't be disrespected, neither should the woman. Saying it the way I expressed above let's her know that you are genuinely interested in getting to know her and you let her know that being on the phone all night isn't okay, but it's said in a way that won't make her defensive. (This is obviously just my opinion, and I hope it's taken as such. A respectful debate. I absolutely don't mean anything negative by it.)
