all the messages are straight forward and thatā€™s the point the tap dancers represent ppl stepping around the uncomfortable but much needed conversations. And as far as the sound goes, itā€™s so different bc Kendrick literally uses a different sound on each album.

It all seemed pretty straightforward to me. Kendrick going through the complexities of navigating ego, expectations from others, and acknowledging ones own trauma and healing from it.

i disagggreeeeeee harshly Mr.Morale & The Big Steppers is way more directed and focused than you are giving it credit. It is not as clear cut but that does not make the themes, messages and transportations of those more cloudy or general. It is pretty simple actually. It tells the story of mr. moral (which is him) and the big stepper (which is also him and his community). The struggles and perceptions they have and how he and others transform through reflection. It is self acceptance and change in one album while also saying im not your messiah. It is therapy.

this album isnā€™t confusing at all. itā€™s very obvious what itā€™s about.

People say itā€™s not a double album because thereā€™s no enough songs. And he just says itā€™s a double album. But In the second half of the album he thinks and dedicates song more directly to himself. I think itā€™s quite interesting he put himself last. Possible suggesting heā€™s a people pleaser or that he finally realised his real self worth.

It's literally a therapy session for his self. A self reflection which is why the last song is mirrors it's pretty obvious

Love this album so much it's so personal and honest I love every song. Also love your video it is very true that he incorporated so many of his elements and still gives us something new but relatably profound.

This album is absolutely incredible. Albums are made to feel like one big project or a big portrait... this is art

Why release your art and takes on the internet if you don't expect it to be analyzed. Even if this album is personal to him, all of his albums are his personal and artistic journey through a certain aspect of himself.Section 80 was a love story. GKMC was a story about a kid from Compton wanting to be something he isn't. And Tpab was quite literally a character study about how he needs to be himself. If he really didn't want us to analyze it why would he even take the time to make the music.MMATBS is a deep dive into Kendrick as he going through what practically is a therapy session. The only way anyone could've found this out was by analyzing and observing the lyrics. If you're going to be this personal and intimate with your music and expect it not to be analyzed then you are defeating the purpose of art and expression and music as well

My biggest takeaways is that 1. Not everything is black and white all good or all evil 2. Kendrick could've easily (especially if top dog killed his father)become kodak and vice versa 3. There are societal and systemic issues that will foever hold us back no matter how many ppl are cancelled 4. Even tho you and I might be victims healing and moving on is on us as individuals coz even for someone like Kendrick who has everything is still hurting and unfulfilled in his life 5. Most importantly this is Kendricks perspective and journey

Its quite a clear concept album, its Kendrick figuring out what kind of person he wants to be in the world and atoning for his mistakes. All guided by Whitney
