These are the things you should know about IMEI registration if you are a foreigner.
If you are staying in Indonesia for less than 90 days, you don’t have to register the IMEI numbers of your imported cellphone devices.
What you shoud do are,
First, use your current SIM card (the roaming one).
Second, purchase a local SIM card and register at a nearby provider outlet, such as Grapari Telkomsel, XL Center, or Gerai Indosat, to gain free access to the Indonesian Telecommunication Network.
When you go, don’t forget to bring your passport and your device.
However, if you stay for more than 90 days, you must register your IMEI according to Indonesian regulations.
