Even today (Google translate) 'young woman' does not translate to Almah, you have to use the word "maiden" to get the result Almah. Young women = אישה צעירה Maiden = עלמה A maiden is an unmarried (untouched by a man) woman, as opposed to say a widow (אלמנה), a woman who has known a man. Sadly, our culture is so morally bankrupt, that we no longer automatically assume an unmarried young woman is virginal. Indeed, if a young woman is still a virgin by the time she marries, she is exceptional and rare. 😢
